  • Background: Changes in cell surface sialylation have recently been implicated in mediating epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).Results: Cell surface sialylation was first down-regulated but then reverted and up-regulated during EMT, and inhibition of sialylation promoted EMT.Conclusion: Sialylation dynamics plays an important role in regulating EMT.Significance: Sialylation may have important functions in EMT-related diseases.
