  • T. Luo, H. Guan, J. Liu, J. Wang, and Y. Zhang, "Curcumin Inhibits Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma Progression Through Down-Regulating the circNRIP1/miR-532-3p/AKT Pathway," Environmental Toxicology 38 , no. 11 (2023): 2705-2716, https://doi.org/10.1002/tox.23905. The above article, published online on 20 July 2023 in Wiley Online Library (http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/), has been retracted by agreement between the journal Editor-in-Chief, April Rodd; and Wiley Periodicals LLC. Following an investigation by the publisher, the parties have concluded that this article was accepted solely on the basis of a compromised peer review process. In addition, the flow cytometry analysis for Figure 5H strongly resembles a flow cytometry analysis panel in Figure 2G under completely different experimental conditions, which was published in a previous article by some of the same authors (Wang et al., 2020; https://doi.org/10.2147/OTT.S275135). The editors no longer have confidence in the conclusions reported in the article. Therefore, the article must be retracted. Author Y. Zhang did not indicate their agreement with the retraction. Authors T. Luo, H. Guan, J. Liu and J. Wang did not respond to communications from the Publisher regarding the retraction.
