Molecular pathology of myeloproliferative neoplasms Klco JM; Vij R; Kreisel FH; Hassan A; Frater JLAm J Clin Pathol 2010[Apr]; 133 (4): 602-15Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs; formerly chronic myeloproliferative disorders) are a class of myeloid hematologic malignancies that represent a stem cell-derived expansion of 1 or more hematopoietic cell lineages. The current 2008 World Health Organization system recognizes 8 types of MPN: chronic myelogenous leukemia, chronic neutrophilic leukemia, polycythemia vera, primary myelofibrosis, essential thrombocythemia, chronic eosinophilic leukemia, mastocytosis, and myeloproliferative neoplasm, unclassifiable.
