It acts as an electron channel and mediates equilibration of ascorbate-semidehydroascorbate inside the secretory vesicle with the ascorbate redox pair in the cytoplasm. The role for this function is to regenerate ascorbate inside the secretory vesicle for use by monooxygenases.
