Drug therapy improves patients' prognosis and, based on good-quality evidence, is safe and cost-effective. There are several drug classes that can be used in left ventricular dysfunction, so it may be useful to discuss their stratification and prioritization for clinical practice. This is the first of a series of papers that will present and discuss the most valid, important and applicable evidence on drug therapy in chronic heart failure due to left ventricular systolic dysfunction.
